Folks, I'm sorry during this peaceful, joyous holiday week to have to jerk you back into cold, hard reality, but: If you jog in Colorado or plan to soon, you should be aware that doing so could get you eaten. Let's pause for a moment so that can sink in. On the Scale of Running Hazards, being eaten has got to be right up there with jogging through a cemetery, tripping somehow into an open grave, losing consciousness, and being buried alive in your neon-green compression socks. We aren't talking here about shin splints or plantar fasciitis or even being hit by a car. We're talking about being eaten . We're talking about watching in horror as a wild animal removes your heart and shows it to you, Mola Ram-style , before popping it into his mouth and then moving on to your stringy runner thighs, possibly using your Gu packets in between to cleanse its palate.
