2009 4x100m World Championship bronze medallist Tyrone Edgar has this week announced his retirement from athletics. The 30 year old is now pursuing a career in coaching, and has left this message to thank the people that have supported him throughout his career:  After much thought and consideration, I have decided to retire from athletics. I’ve been fortunate enough for the past 13 years to represent my great country, United Kingdom. I am very blessed to say that I was given a chance to wake up every morning and work at something that I truly love. Athletics has and always will play a big part of my life. Major setbacks powered me to be even more determined to excel in this sport. Realizing that I was not performing at my very best, I have decided to walk away with my head held high.
