Treat yourself after your run this morning with these French Toast Waffles

Sometimes you stumble across a recipe so simple yet so amazing, you slap yourself in the forehead wondering how you ever got by without it, and why you hadn't thought of it yourself. This is one of those recipes. I found it a few weeks ago, on a Sunday morning, while scanning our copy of The Joy of Cooking for a waffle batter recipe. The name alone was worthy of a double-take: French Toast Waffles. What appeared at first to be a typo turned out to be deliberate, and delicious. Plus, it's absurdly easy. (Scroll down for photos.) French Toast Waffles Recipe adapted from The Joy of Cooking What you'll need: 3 large eggs 1/2 cup milk 2 tablespoons butter, melted 1 teaspoon vanilla extract dash of salt cinnamon to taste 6 slices of bread How to make it: 1.
