Alan Webb Says His 2012 Olympic Dreams Are Over - He Won't Start 1,500 #Eugene2012

Alan is a great runner. i don't see any need to kick him while he's down. he tried to make a comeback for the trials, but - as he said in his interview - this just hasn't been his year. he couldn't put it together. he is, in fact, human. but it's so frustrating that people bash him. Too much damn negativity! It's sad that the majority of people hoped that he would fail. It just really sucks that people would rather Alan do poorly, rather than other runners do better. i'm sad to see that it just didn't come together for him. hero, inspiration, legend. either would suffice. it's impossible to say that he didn't raise the bar for american mid distance running. thanks for the memories alan, and hope this isn't the end.
