Larisa Dannis was a recreational runner but she just ran the fastest women's 50-miler:

Larisa Dannis, 27, averaged 7:11 per mile in winning the USA 50 Mile Road Championship on Saturday. She set the event record by more than 37 minutes, and her time of 5:59:11 was the fastest 50-miler by an American woman in 20 years and the third fastest by an American woman ever. Only ultrarunning legend Ann Trason, who holds the world best of 5:40:18, and Donna Perkins (5:55:41) have run faster, according to ultrarunning.com . Dannis finished fifth overall in the race, closer to men’s winner Tyler Sigl, who ran 5:32:24, than the second place female, Carolyn Smith did to her, despite the fact that Smith’s 6:28:17 was also under the previous event record.
