STUDY: It doesn't matter how you do it, but hamstring stretching is important. Here's why:

Those who did the near-daily stretching improved their hamstring flexibility by an average of 11 to 13 percent after six weeks. That was true even though some of the stretchers did nine 10-second stretches per day, while the other stretchers did three 30-second stretches per day. They got similar results by stretching with two fairly different approaches, in less time than some runners take to debate what type of stretching is best.
