Q: How important is it to do some runs faster than others? A:

You could continue to run your go-to workout and maintain the fitness level you’ve developed (a perfectly fine option). Or, you could weave in one workout each week that includes some faster-paced running. This option will spice up your routine, improve your cardiovascular fitness, form and eventually allow you to run your easy runs faster. The key is to move into the higher intensity mode gently and gradually as you’ll test the waters for what works for you and avoid getting hurt.
