Long known for her pivotal role in the women’s running movement, marathoner and organizer Kathrine Switzer jumps to a larger stage Tuesday evening in a PBS-TV special airing at 9 p.m. Eastern time. The 3-hour show, “Makers: Women Who Make America,” traces the history and impact of the women’s movement through interviews with dozens of famous and not-famous woman, including Gloria Steinem, Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen Goodman, Condoleezza Rice, and Katie Couric. The PBS documentary springs from an even bigger collection of interviews, “Makers.” A half-dozen short outtakes from the Switzer interview can be found here .
