Would you try this crazy-looking running bike?

By Scott Douglas A German design team has created the FLIZ, a modern version of a velocipede , which is more or less a two-wheeled device that enables a cross between running and cycling. The project was entered earlier this month as a contestant for the James Dyson Award , funded by the inventor of the Dyson vacuum cleaner. The contest's brief is "design something that solves a problem." This is a logical criteria for the award, given that Dyson vacuum cleaners solved the problem of most vacuum cleaners not being all that great at cleaning. If the FLIZ were to win, we'd be inclined to think the Dyson award has lost its way, unless a problem that needs solving is the current lack of a device that combines Fred Flintstone acceleration and kyphosis -causing cruising.
