By Scott Douglas Registration remains open for the Sheboygan Half Marathon on October 13, but city officials say the race organizers, Rapid Running, haven't submitted the necessary paperwork, a Wisconsin radio station reports . "As far as we're concerned, the event isn't being held here, because it hasn't been submitted to be held here. I would love to say we could cancel it, but there's nothing to cancel," the city's tourism director told the radio station. The city's tourism office is considering legal action against Rapid Running for using its logo to promote the race without consent. The Sheboygan race isn't the first Rapid Running event to face controversy. In July, it canceled the Beloit Half Marathon , also in Wisconsin, less than a week before race day "due to unforeseen circumstances," the race announced.
