Farah ran for the host nation Great Britain, of course, but he spent the first eight years of his life in Somalia – where his twin brother, Hassan, still resides. The UK’s Daily Mail has interviewed Hassan, who talks about the years when the two boys would sleep in the same bed and eat from the same plate and were so similar that teachers and friends often confused their identities. And then, when the twins were 8, their parents sent Mo out of strife-torn Somalia to Great Britain, while Hassan remained behind. Hassan grew up in deprived conditions in Djibouti, which borders Somalia. He now lives modestly in Hargeisa in northern Somalia and watched his brother’s London Olympic exploits...
