BEHIND THE SCENES AT THE OLYMPICS: Here's what happens in the hour before a track race. #London2012

Earlier this year, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick made headlines when he had his players rest for 30 minutes in the middle of a pre-Super Bowl practice. The idea was to help the Patriots simulate the extended halftime break that accompanies the biggest football game of the year. Olympic athletes face a similarly daunting task. While most elites are used to warming up at their leisure and then being called to a holding area for a short period before the start of competition, the Olympic experience entails two separate tracks, four call areas and being held the last hour beneath the stadium.
