Is my moderate pain an incoming injury?

I’m at the beginning stages of a training program and experiencing ankle soreness towards the end of my runs and after running. My own theory is that the muscles supporting my left achy ankle are weaker than those of my right leg and just need stretching and strengthening. As long as I am not in pain or altering my stride should I continue or take a break due to possible injury? Thanks, Jared Jared- Congrats on starting a training program! Your theory of weaker muscles in your left leg being the cause of your ankle pain is a possibility; however, there are many other possibilities worthy of consideration too, like shoes, leg length differences, over pronation, over supination, over training, or running surfaces, to name a few.
