How often do you #rest?

As I slow down these last few weeks, I am appreciating and remembering the importance of rest. I wrote this two years ago and may be recycling a few oldies but goodies these next few weeks depending when the baby comes and how much time I have to blog. How often do you rest? Most coaches recommend that runners take at least one complete day off , and a few days of cross training or mixing easy running days with hard days. Resting itself is an important part of becoming a stronger runner! It allows us to R ecover, regain E nthusiasm, S leep and T rain again. RECOVERY Giving your joints a break from the pounding allows them to recover to prevent overuse injuries, soreness or inflammation.
