I love this idea. And, when I’m eating enough of the whole foods/healthier options I tend to naturally stay away from the less healthy options. I recently tried this approach with my teenagers. They will get up from the dinner table (where they were served healthy options with nutritional bases well covered) and head to Taco Bell for a “snack”. Rather than asking them to give up their less healthy choices, I’ve asked them to add one healthier item every day such as additional fruit, actually eating the vegetables I serve or selecting water over soda. I’m staying with that approach with them for now and hoping that will lead to each of them naturally making healthier choices.
