News: Minooka heads into March with a win at Lockport Invitational

The performance that kicked off Minooka on their way to the meet win was the win in the 3200 Meter Run by cross country all-state runner Soren Knudsen. From the start of the race, he did all of the work without having anyone push him during the 16 laps around the track. All he could do was work off of the runners that he was lapping. He went through the 1600 in 4:37 and looked effortless. He closed in a final 400 of 66 seconds to cross the line in the second fastest time of the season in the state (9:18.71). He was 32 seconds ahead of second place finisher Hunter Cobbley (El Paso-Gridley HS). The performance by Knudsen was even more impressive considering that he had competed for Minooka’s swim team in their sectional meet the week before.
