"If you write another book you should call it Run Your Way to the Table ." This comment, which came from my boyfriend, was partly in jest, partly serious. If there's anything that's more important than my friend Megan and I's goal of running 1,000 miles this year , it's eating to fuel those 1,000 miles. Not because we are obsessed with energy and calories and high carb meals. Nope. Eating is important simply because both of us love to eat. And we love to eat even more after we've gone on a run. In fact, we have had long discussions about why that postrace beer and burger taste so good. My hypothesis? Human beings have to eat, and we have developed a three-meal-a-day strategy to ensure we get the fuel we need. But often, we don't eat because we're hungry.
