Smackdown alert! Chrissie Wellington responds to 'inaccurate' Evening Standard article:

British triathlete Chrissie Wellington has written an open letter to Evening Standard columnist Simon Jenkins in which she describes his recent article about the ITU World Championship Finals as "poorly researched". The four-time World Ironman Champion welcomes his correction that the ITU is not the International Telecommunications Union (as originally stated) but rather triathlon's governing body the International Triathlon Union. 220 Triathlon contributor Chrissie also points to the fact that far from being an "obscure event", the ITU World Championship Finals attracted 8,500 athletes and perhaps 10 times as many spectators and volunteers to London recently.
