When Bernard Lagat sets out to reclaim his American two-mile record at the 106th Millrose Games on Saturday , running aficionados will find no shortage of ways to track his progress. In addition to the nearly sold-out crowd spectating in Manhattan, viewers at home will have the option of watching a live stream on ESPN3 or waiting a day for the tape-delayed broadcast on ESPN. While televised coverage of track and field meets remains rare, online streaming has grown rapidly in the past five years. This has allowed unparalleled viewership of cross country, track, and road races at all levels. Today, some of the high-definition streams rival network broadcasts in terms of production value.
