UPDATE: On the world's oldest marathoner, 101-year-old Fauja Singh

Earlier this month , we ran an item that the British press was reporting that Fauja Singh, 101, would run his last marathon in Hong Kong on February 24. Singh's trainer has clarified that Singh's race in Hong Kong will be his last official competition, but he won't run the marathon there. "His last [race] before complete retirement (he will continue jogging for leisure I am sure) will be the 10-K at the Hong Kong Marathon on 24 February," Harmander Singh wrote in an e-mail to Runner's World Newswire . "He is honoring a commitment and was invited to run again, being the highest charity fundraising individual last year (HKD $104,000)." Singh tuned up for the Hong Kong race by running the 4.2-K race at last Sunday's Mumbai Marathon. Singh, 101, is credited with being the oldest person to finish a marathon.
