I started this week fully intended to get back on the wagon and stop pussy-footing around. I signed back up with my training group and meant to use the data I accrued back in May when I had a VO2 max test to start heart rate training. But as the week went on, I was dreading every run. I wanted to just wake up and run what I felt at whatever pace I felt. It’s not like me to give up on a goal, and if I had a race looming I wouldn’t be flaking out, but my next big race isn’t until November. The 18 months of training/getting injured/recovering/training again has taken it’s toll on my psyche and I just want to run for fun for awhile. So on Sunday, after a miserable long run staring at my watch, I decided to do just that. So here is my first and last week of heart rate training.
