Endocannabinoid boost (i.e. runner's high) from moderate but not easy or intense exercise:

I blogged earlier this year about some neat research looking at the links between exercise, mood, and morphine-like brain chemicals called endocannibinoids (see "Why Ferrets Don't Get Runner's High "). The same research group, led by David Raichlen at the University of Arizona, has a new study in the European Journal of Applied Physiology with some interesting results. The goal was to look at how different exercise intensities affected endocannabinoid levels; here' s the key graph: The study involved 10 runners who did 30-minute treadmill sessions on four different days.
