A short article, right to the point. Staying within the salt guidelines is very hard for sure. I cut out deli meat mainly for this reason but I still like canned beans, canned chili, and canned soup- all high sodium items. I solved my problem by limiting consumption and looking for low-sodium varieties and also by not worrying much about it. As a runner, I'm sure I'm burning off plenty of sodium. I never knew the potassium DV was so high but looking at the referenced listing of foods I can see why it's so high. It seems virtually every food that exists has some potassium. With bananas and broccoli, two of my favorite foods, high on the charts I'm not too worried about getting my share.
