Photo Victah Sailer Johanna Olson, who qualified for the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Marathon Trials, will run the Twin Cities Marathon on October 7, The Republic reports . That sentence might not seem noteworthy until you realize that Olson will be doing so with a brain tumor that has doubled in size since July. Olson, 33, was first diagnosed with the tumor when she was a top runner at Luther College in Iowa. After treatment, the tumor waned. In 2000, Olson won the 2000 Division III national cross country title. After college, she became a member of Team USA Minnesota, turned to marathons, set a PR of 2:43:27 and ran in two Olympic Trials. In 2009, a CT scan showed the tumor had returned.
