Photo Bridget Murphy/Columbia Missourian At Monday's Heart of America Marathon in Columbia, Missouri, Steven Mankofsky fell far short of breaking the record for the fastest marathon run in a suit, the Missourian reports . Mankofsky, who entered the race with a 3:36 PR, was trying to better the Guinness Book of World Records mark of 3:24:46, set by Irish runner Paul Buchanan at the 2009 Dublin Marathon. Instead, he finished in 5:06:09. Mankofsky, 22, didn't pick the best day to try to lower his marathon PR, no matter how he was dressed. The temperature during the race reached the mid-80s, and it was humid. The men's winner, Justin Gillette, won in 2:47, compared to his PR of 2:25.
