Interesting study on the effects of grazing through the night v. time-restricted eating:

Here's a neat study, just published in Cell Metabolism , whose results I wouldn't have guessed in advance. Take two groups of mice. Let one group eat as much as it wants, whenever it wants. Feed the other group the exact same amount and type of food, but only at night (bear in mind that mice are nocturnal, so feeding them only at night is the equivalent of humans eating only during the day). Which group gains more weight? To heighten the suspense, I'll post this somewhat confusing but mildly funny graphical representation of the experiment: I love those little blocks of cheese! Anyway, as the diagram indicates, the mice who spread their eating throughout the day and night end up with weakened circadian rhythms, and they end up fatter -- even though they've consumed the same number of calories as their daytime-fasting peers.
