Snap Happy: An Interview With Jordi Saragossa

Yeah, the first day I had a little headache and I told Kilian that I had a little pain and that maybe it was the altitude. We thought it was okay and that it would disappear. The second day, more pain but we climbed to the highest part of the course—that probably wasn’t such a good thing to do. Third day, more pain and fever. We didn’t have water in the cabin either, so that was a problem trying to stay hydrated. By the fourth day I had more fever and some blood in my mouth, it wasn’t very funny! Then we decided that we should go to the hospital. The doctor said that maybe I had a pulmonary edema and gave me some pills. He said, “No more altitude for you this week,” but the day after was the race and I needed to take the photos.
