SAC has already seen one development that will force some rewriting of U.S. Olympic Trials forecasts. On Thursday, Evan Jager, who’d made the U.S. team for the 2009 World championships in the 5,000-meter run at age 20, had his career debut in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and triumphed in 8:26.14. Dan Huling, heretofore considered a Trials co-favorite with 2008 Olympian Billy Nelson, was relegated to third.
