By now, everyone who's anyone has heard about H.I.I.T. H.I.I.T., of course, stands for Helsinki Institute for Information Technology , a joint research institute of Aalto University and the University of Helsinki that conducts basic and applied research on information technology. Wait. Wrong H.I.I.T. Sorry. The H.I.I.T. we're talking about here is the exercise kind -- "high intensity interval training." No less an authority than our own Amby Burfoot, in a recent blog post , called H.I.I.T. "the current rage in exercise physiology." Basically, as Wikipedia explains , H.I.I.T. is "an exercise strategy alternating periods of short intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods."
