To avoid diabetes: when I was overweight, I was pre-diabetic. If I gain weight again, it’s likely I will have a high chance of becoming pre-diabetic again or even have full diabetes. To avoid sleep apnea: similar to above, when I was overweight, I had sleep apnea. As I lost the weight, my sleeping improved. After my weight loss, I had a follow-up sleep study and the doctor confirmed, my sleep apnea was gone. When I was initially diagnosed at 17 years old, the doctors recorded me waking up once every 2 minutes to catch my breath – now, I sleep through the night without waking up at all. I want to have energy: being healthy is natural energy. When I was overweight, I was always lethargic.
